Fat Free Friday: Week 1

Welcome to the first official week of Fat Free Friday hosted by myself here at Many Sleepless Nights, Sara at Here Comes the Sun & Allie at I was a Fat Bride!  We have teamed up to bring you a weight-loss inspired blog hop!  We have all had very different journeys with weight loss & we hope to inspire & motivate you each week.  We also know that you have your own stories of inspiration.  We want to hear your stories as well!  Your loss, your gain, your goals, your rewards, everything!  We want this to be a place where any other blogger that is sharing our weight-loss journey can link up their blog and share their story.

For our first official week, we are all three hosting the blog hop and then we will alternate weeks in the hosting spot but we all will link-up and pass the link information on to our readers so you can link-up as well!  We don’t want you to feel restricted by tons of rigid rules, but we would like for you to follow as many other bloggers in the hop as you would like and if you feel motivated or inspired or meet a kindred spirit in your mutual love of chocolate cake, leave a meaningful comment on their weight-loss post!  Having a good support system is such an important part of the weight-loss journey and we hope that this blog hop is a place that you will find that!

You guys?  I suck.

I actually gained weight this week.

As much as it pains me to say so, I am back up to 175.0 pounds as of this morning.

I know that Thanksgiving didn’t help things and, while I didn’t go as crazy as I normally do, I still didn’t hold back enough.


I haven’t exercised in an embarrassingly long time.

I know that I have to make it a priority.

I know that there are days that I just cannot make it to the gym and, on those days, I know I should pop Jillian into the DVD player.  But I don’t.  I sit on the couch helping Greg with homework or reading a book or updating my blog or whatever I can come up with to put off exercise.

It has to stop.

I have to stop being so complacent and allowing myself the excuses.  I can’t just sit around and expect the weight to come off. 

I know that.

This week, I’m going to set the goal for myself to lose 1 pound.  That’s it.  Just one measly little pound by this time next week.  I’m really hoping that by keeping this very small goal, I can actually achieve it & by next week, I will have more motivating things to say.

  1. How about drinking more water (less Starbucks!), anyway that is what you told me last night. Dad said I look thinner today (maybe he is just wanting to get on my good side) and asked me about the wraps, what they do and all that. I think Monday would be a good day to remeasure. Good luck with the weightloss, back to Jillian and all her goodness.

    • Yes, I definitely need to drink more water and, unfortunately, less Starbucks. When Greg goes back to school full-time in January, Starbucks will definitely be out anyway so I should start weaning myself now.

      Let me know if Dad wants to do a wrap!
