One of the (many) upsides to having a multi-generational home

When we first started talking about moving in with Greg’s parents, there were some hesitations. From both sides. Mostly we were all worried that it would strain our relationships and we would end up hating each other by the end of the first week.

Well?

It’s the end of the first week and I’m happy to report that we are all still alive and all still in good spirits!

We seem to be doing okay as far as finding a balance between sharing responsibilities and staying out of each others’ hair.  At least, I think so.  I feel that way and haven’t heard otherwise from anybody else yet.

And one of the coolest things about living with my in-laws?

The kids get to see this set of grandparents every day (which we all love!) and my parents only live about 10 miles down the road so they are much closer as well!

3 generations.  Sitting on the deck, grilling steaks and hanging out.

My father-in-law got to read bedtime stories to the kids last night.

I’m pretty sure it was the highlight of their day.  And his.
